Emmaisms

Another round of conversations with Emma.

"What happens if I get tired of being a grown up?"

"Who's God's daddy?"

"Set your fart free or you'll explode"

"I will wish for it to rain money, then it would be a money storm"

Mommy: "Emma, would you like a peach?"
Emma: : "NO, I don't like peaches!"
Mommy: "Just try a piece."
Emma: "Oh Ok...............mmmmmm, I JUST LOVE PEACHES!"

"You better do what I told you."

Warshmellows = Marshmallows

I have asked her to say "M M M Marshmallow", but she insists it is indeed warshmallow.

Anything ending in ing = Bakin' Makin' Shakin', you get the picture.

I will say, "Emma, say make" and she will say make, then I will say "say ing" and she will say ing, then I will say "Say making" and she will say "Makin'" It's really cute as all get out.

Emma says "Mommy"
I say "Yes"
Emma says "I love you"

That's pretty cool.

Monthly Emmaism Review

Emmaisms:

Emma trying to get out of the tub on her own, looks up at me and says in an Italian Sopranoesque way "A little help here?"

Emma still in her rhyming phase, at the grocery store to her daddy, "Does long dong rhyme?"

Emma being directorial and telling us what to do, "You, mama, stand here. NOOOOOO, here I said!"

Emma while playing Uno, "I am going to look at my cards to keep, but you just take the ones I give you, k."

Emma trying to imitate a Boston native, "I am going to go wait in the cahr for yous"

It's A Grilled Cheese Day

The weather has been ferocious today, windy, rainy and downright gloomy. Days like this call for grilled cheese and tomato soup. Being that I am at work, writing this happy blog, I had to steal a picture of aforementioned grilled cheese and tomato soup. The wonderful sammich featured above can be found here.
I would also like to make note, that while I am at work, it is after 5pm and I am not, I repeat, I am not, doing this on work time. (Just in case the bosses are reading. This thing is time stamped right?)
Back to the topic at hand, which is grilled cheese and tomato soup. I love it on cold rainy days. It makes me happy and all warm and fuzzy on the inside. One day, I am sure that Emma will love it as much as I do. Right now though, I can't get that child to eat anything except sweet potatoes. She loves herself some sweet potatoes, which she incidentally calls "Pumpkin". And in case you were wondering or had any desire to know, her little poops are orange and she calls them "pumkin poops".
How in the world did I transition from grilled cheese to pumpkin poop?

Apple Dapple

Emma has learned to ryhme and she has become quite adept at it. She tries to ryhme everything, at times it is quite comical.

She says to me, "Mommy, does tree leave rhyme?"

And I say, "No, honey, tree bee rhymes though."

To which she responds, "Why?"

So I begin to explain that in order for words to rhyme, the must have the same ending sound, like tree ends with ee and bee ends with ee, she starts to understand. Amazing.

No, she has moved on to creating her own words to make things ryhme. I just laugh and think that one day she may grow up to be a talented wordsmith.

Sunday in the Garden

Dan was kind enough to build a little place for Emma to do her gardening. Currently, we have watermelons growing, and, that's all. Emma would like to plant pickles, which I think we can accomodate. She would also like to plant peaches. When we told her that peaches grow on trees, she said that was fine, we would just pick a peach from the tree and put it in the ground.

Emma's Fancy B*&% Hole

Family laCarter had a wonderful day at the beach yesterday. One of the benefits of living in a city named Virginia Beach is that there actually is a beach close by and we can go whenever we want, on a whim even, which is what we did yesterday.

Emma loves to play in the sand, and one of her favorite things to do is dig a little hole, plant her hiney in it and cover herself up with sand. Imagine my surprise when she announced happily, and quite loudly, "Look at my fancy B*&^ hole!"

You see, I understood, she meant look at the hole, which is fancy, and to which she placed her hiney in. It made perfect sense to my innocent four-year old that this sandy hole should indeed be deemed a butt........hole.

To the beach goers nearby however, all they knew is that there was a child, saying dirty things and her parents were laughing at her.

Makes you think twice about giving a parent dirty looks when you overhear a conversation to which you are not privy to don't it!
